INVESTMENT PROMOTION
Since its inception, The Lugano Group has been contracted for high-level U.S. investment promotion visits led by the Prime Ministers of Belize, Grenada, and Jamaica. The first investment promotion trip arranged by the group was for the Prime Minister of Belize in 1997.

During his March 2004 visit, Grenada Prime Minister Keith C. Mitchell became the first Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM) leader to ring a ceremonial bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). During this visit, The Lugano Group arranged for the Prime Minister to meet with investors and also conduct international media interviews.

Jamaican Prime Minister Percival J. Patterson soon followed in June 2005 and became the second CARICOM head of government to ring a NYSE ceremonial bell.

In November 2005, The Lugano Group organized the first-ever presentation to U.S institutional investors by the two largest Caribbean stock exchanges. The event, which received international press coverage, consisted of representatives from institutions with total assets of U.S$300 billion.

We have also worked with the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission on a high-level U.S. visit led by the Minister of Finance in November 2005. During this mission, The Lugano Group facilitated a meeting between the visiting delegation and the NYSE Chief Executive Officer. We also identified potential investors who met with members of the Nigerian delegation.
